“It came without ribbons, it came without bows, it came without packages, boxes or bags. Maybe Christmas he thought, doesn’t come from a store. Maybe…. Christmas perhaps means a little more.” If you have grandchildren, have spent time in an elementary school around Christmas, love Dr. Seuss or love Christmas movies then you will know that is a quote from Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The Grinch is a who, who hates Christmas a lot and one fateful year he comes up with a plan to steal Christmas from all the jolly Christmas loving who’s in Whoville. But thanks to the one and only little Cindy Lou Who the Grinch eventually has a change of heart. This year our advent worship series is The Heart that Grew Three Sizes: Finding Faith in the Story of the Grinch by Matt Rawle. I hope you will all join us this Advent season as we dive deep into Whoville and come to find the traditional themes of advent Peace, Hope, Love, Joy. As Matt writes in his book “maybe… just maybe the Grinch who hates Christmas knows more about Christmas than we do.” This is a Church wide study, starting Sunday November 28 on Sunday Morning during Worship and additional small groups will be led on the book.
Make sure you join us for fellowship, food and fun on Sunday, November 21, 2021 we will be having Thanksgiving Dinner and watching the Grinch together to prepare us for our Advent Series.
